Since 1995 (3 years before Google started) has been THE best plumbing supplier on the web. we actually had periodic Infrared Surveys done on our electrical distribution system to locate bad connections and potential failure points before production was disrupted by a failure. I would say that if low voltage is observed your next call should be an electrician. If low voltage is present in many cases it can be resolved by tightening up the hot and neutral connections in the breaker panel, sometimes the problem may require tracing of the circuit and finding a bad connection in a junction box. Motor manufactures claim a 10% drop is okay so that would be 108 Volts. The voltage should be around 110-120 volts. Re: Sewage ejector pump fails intermittently Does this ever happen? The pump is on a 20 amp circuit, and we haven't experienced any other electrical problems in the house. I realize that I only ran the cold water, so maybe hot showers would contribute to overheating?Ģ.) The electrical wiring to the pump might be flakey. If this is true, then it's strange that it didn't overheat when I ran the water later in the day. My only two ideas are:ġ.) The pump might be overheating. We ran water for almost an hour, and the pump worked as expected. There was no visible debris in the pit, and float appeared to be unobstructed. When I arrived with the plumber later in the day, the pit was empty, so the pump eventually did turn on. The pump still did not run when they did this. In order to try to drain the pit, they unplugged the pump, separated the pump's power plug from the switch plug, and plugged the pump's power plug directly into the outlet (I showed them how to do this in case of an emergency). The tenants opened the door to the pit's closet, and saw water coming out of the pit. Apparently, the flooding occured after the third shower in the morning. The system features an injection-molded structural foam. Arrives pre-plumbed with no internal plumbing needed and ready for installation. Perfect for pumping below grade toilets, washing machines and sinks to a sewer or on-site wastewater system. Yesterday I got a call from the the tenants saying that the basement had flooded a bit with sewage. Find the perfect pump for your basement with the Everbilt 1/2HP Pre-Plumbed Sewage Basin System. It is a brand new pump, installed two weeks ago after the last (old) pump died. The ejector pump is a Sta-Rite grinder (I forget the model). I own a rental unit with a sewage pit and ejector in the basement, which drains one heavily-used bathroom. Hi - I have a nasty ejector failure problem:
